Turning Haters into Motivation: Why I’m Starting the Practice Room for DJs
As a DJ just getting my footing in the game, I was hit with a challenge I didn’t expect: hate. Crazy, right? When you’re starting out, you think it’s all about finding your sound, connecting with the crowd, and grinding your way up. But sometimes, people can throw shade before you even get to the booth.
Here’s the thing—I was ready to spin at a bar, a free gig that was supposed to help me get more experience, but because of some personal beef, I was told I couldn’t practice there. Now, instead of letting that negativity bring me down, I’m turning it into something positive. That’s how The Practice Room was born.
The Practice Room is my way of flipping the script on adversity and creating a space for DJs just like me—those who are starting out and need a place to practice, grow, and get their sound right. It’s a Boiler Room-style platform where we can experiment, vibe, and sharpen our skills without the pressure of performing perfectly. I’m building a supportive space where new DJs can thrive.
